19 West 120th Street

Handi-Lift installed a unique turning inclined platform lift which provides wheelchair access to an apartment in Manhattan. We utilized the Garaventa Artira to fit in this very limited space. The top landing is at street level with stairs leading straight down to the apartment door. There is a narrow path in front of the door so the lift curves 90 degrees at the bottom landing to allow for loading and parking. This path leads to a small walled garden. Since there is almost no space at the upper landing, custom tubes were designed to bend 90 degrees into holes in the stone wall near the top of the stairs. The tubes come out of the other side of the wall and turn 90 degrees to reach the drive box which sits in the garden at the lower landing. The tubes were tower mounted with 5 towers. This lift has a glossy black finish which matches the fencing around the building.
