Look closely through the doors in this photo and you will see the XpressII inclined platform lift that Handi-Lift installled at the Empire Stores retail building in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
This building is one of the last standing brick storehouses built in the 19thcentury, so the structure is a landmark building. Handi-Lift has many years of experience working in the landmark buildings in New York City, which must provide ADA compliant accessibility without compromising the historical aesthetics and structure.

The custom RAL color helps the lift blend in with the stone facade |
Our sales team worked closely with Perkins Eastman Architects and H&H Builders to design the lift and coordinate the proper location for the core drill preparation for the concrete under the blue stone steps and flooring. All the supporting custom towers and pedestals for the call stations were embedded in this concrete.
The lift, rails, and call stations have a custom RAL color to help the lift blend in with the stone façade behind it. The LED lights under the lower landing call station are another unique feature of this lift.
