In the first half of 2025, Handi-Lift installed a Limited Use/Limited Application (LU/LA) Elevator at the new fire station in Tappan, New York. We selected the Garaventa Elvoron Machine Room-Less, electric LU/LA for this project. This state-of-the-art elevator is a perfect fit for this new building. This LU/LA serves two stops with 360 in line openings so there are doors on only one side of the car. Because there is no machine room, the controller for this space efficient elevator is located on the second floor adjacent to the landing door frame making it simple to maintain. The Elvoron uses the latest elevator drive design for a smooth and quiet ride. This electric drive can withstand more frequent usage than a hydraulic elevator, and no hydraulic fluid is needed. This model provides many of the features found on commercial elevators but for significantly less money.

The elevator’s exterior grey doors were selected to match the surrounding room, creating a seamless transition into the space. Inside the cab, the doors and call station feature a stainless-steel finish, while the walls are painted black and overlaid with grey laminate panels. Grey finishes on both the ceiling and floor complete the interior, resulting in a clean, modern grey-and-white design.
