Handi-Lift’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

2015 marks the 40th year that Handi-Lift, Inc. has served their neighbors in the NY NJ area, by providing Accessibility with Dignity”. We strive to inspire confidence in our accessibility solutions, to honor the God-given dignity of all.

On Saturday June 27th Handi-Lift celebrated it’s 40th anniversary with a little party at McLoone’s Boathouse at the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ. Located within the South Mountain Recreation Complex, McLoone’s Boathouse sits on the banks of the reservoir, showcasing spectacular views.

The weather was not the best and could be best described as a monsoon. That did not stop our employees, friends and family from having a great evening. The night was full of great food and reminiscing about times past, present, and future.

James Boydston; President, and his father Doug Boydston who has been with Handi-Lift since its founding took the guests through a presentation on the history of the organization, its culture, mission, and his vision for the next 40 plus years.

Luke Lesniowski; Sales Manager, presented James & Doug with an enlarged photograph picture of our Marriot Marquis moment when handi-Lift’s logo was shining on the largest screen in times square.

The evening concluded with delicious cake and coffee.

Here is a little more about us.

Before Donald Boydston founded Handi-Lift in 1975, he worked in the elevator industry for 20 years with Mohawk and Armor Elevator. Handi-Lift Inc. began by selling stairway chair lifts by Cheney Company, and soon added public accessibility work to Handi lift’s offerings.

In 1990 after Donald Boydston suffered a stroke his son Douglas Boydston took on ownership of Handi-Lift. Douglas grew the company 5 times in size over the next 20 years. In 2001 Handi-Lift expanded to its current 20,000 sqft facility in Carlstadt NJ.

Today, James Boydston is continuing Handi-Lift’s commitment to excellence in the commercial platform lift and custom home elevator industries.
