Handi-Lift worked with CGW Construction to transform the storefront of 87 Crosby Street, New York. We used an enclosed vertical platform lift to accommodate the limited space. A Garaventa Genesis model was used to provide access to Cartel Hair Studio which is located below street level. The main challenge was ensuring the top of the lift would not be obstructed by the overhang from the upper floor of the building. The lower entrance to the lift is also a tight fit. One unique feature of this project is the sliding iron gate that blocks access to the lift after the building is closed for the night.
