Here is another New York City residential building complying with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The building owner contacted Handi-Lift to install a lift to provide accessibility to the first floor apartment. Handi-Lift worked closely with the architect, George Georgopoulos, on the design of the project. Rather than install a LU/LA elevator here, our sales engineer recommended an enclosure style vertical platform lift by Garaventa. Vertical platform lifts save space and are more economical than elevators for this type of application. This particular lift has a screw drive, standard colors and enclosure, aluminum to withstand the weather, and a 90 degree platform entry and exit. Get in touch to see more photos.
