Handi-Lift installed an unenclosed vertical platform lift outside of the YMCA in White Plains, New York. We worked with Scully Construction to mount a Garaventa OPAL making the YMCA accessible to everyone in the community. The top and bottom gates of the lift are at 90 degrees to each other. The T‑tower structure which attaches the mast of the lift to the wall of the building provides more than enough reinforcement without the need for additional construction by the contractor. Additional paneling was used at the upper landing to close the gap next to the gate. The OPAL lift was the perfect solution for this project because it allowed us to maximize the space available with minimal construction.
